The countdown is over to new building safety regime

The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) is now the Building Control Body for new Higher‐Risk Buildings (HRBs) as of 1 October 2023.

There will be transitional arrangements allowing projects already underway to continue to completion under the previous regulatory framework.

Therefore, from 1 October 2023, all construction companies should make sure they are clear which requirements will apply to their projects.

Once you have this information, you can take the necessary steps to comply with the relevant requirements.

The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) will oversee the safety and performance of all buildings.

Plus, it will have a special focus on high-rise buildings.

The BSR will promote competence and organisational capability within the sector, including for building control professionals and tradespeople.

There is lots of information out there on the new regime, including the CIP Construction H&S Manual, and the HSE website.
