Leading Lights – the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s National Awards

The Leading Lights Awards, run by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, recognise companies that respect the environment, their employees, and their communities.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) works with the construction industry and the public to raise standards and build trust in the sector.

It uses its Code of Considerate Practice and Monitor Checklist to motivate and support those registered with the scheme to:

  • Lessen their impacts on the community surrounding their projects
  • Reduce their environmental impacts
  • Be respectful of their workforce

The Leading Lights Awards programme acknowledges those that have significantly raised the bar in any of these areas.

This doesn’t just mean following the code, but going above and beyond what CCS recommends.

Now, the awards are accepting submissions for 2023.

The categories reflect the type of activities one can register with the Scheme.

Therefore, there are Site, Ultra Site and Organisation Awards available, as well as a category recognising exceptional individuals.

Last year, CCS awarded fantastic projects across community engagement, natural environment enhancement, mental health and equality, diversity and inclusion, to name a few.

The CCS believes outstanding considerate practice deserves to be celebrated and promoted to constantly set new and higher standards for the sector.
