Changes to London Congestion Zone Charge – February 2022

After an extensive public consultation, a number of changes to the Congestion Charge are now in place.

The main measures mean that as of 21 February, there are no charges in the evenings after 18:00. Plus, operating hours on weekends and bank holidays will reduce to 12:00-18:00.

The current charge level of £15 will be retained.

This means the Congestion Charge, currently £15.00 per day, applies to both diesel and petrol vehicles of all types (except motorcycles) driving in the Zone 07.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday and 12.00 to 18.00 weekends and Bank Holidays.

There is no charge between Christmas Day and the New Year’s Day Bank Holiday inclusive.

The payment enables vehicles to enter, drive around, leave and re-enter the charging zone as many times as necessary in one day.
