Industry concern over the UKCA marking continues.
In the latest update to the situation, the Construction Leadership Council has written to the Government warning it will not be possible for many construction products to meet the deadline for obtaining the UKCA mark.
The new UKCA marking system came into force as a result of Brexit.
Previously, construction industry representative Build UK highlighted the implications of the new system.
Following previous delays, the new system will finally come into play from 1 January 2023.
After this date, construction products must carry the UKCA mark to be eligible for sale in Great Britain.
To avoid significant disruption, the CLC is calling for a review of current testing and certification.
