Forward tipping dumper trucks are in general use in the construction industry and are also found in many other industries including utilities, mining, quarrying, river authorities and inland waterway management.  Dumper trucks have a wide variety of uses where there is a requirement to transport materials such as soil, sand, aggregates, and other loose materials safely and efficiently.  Dumper trucks are very versatile and highly manoeuvrable machines but can cause severe or even fatal injury if not operated safely.

Forward Tipping Dumper Trucks – A Guide to Safety, the latest video release from Paragon Training addresses the essential aspects of working safely with all types and sizes of dumper trucks.  The programme demonstrates pre-start checks, essential loading and unloading skills, ascending and descending gradients safely, and provides an overview of the use of earth berms or stop blocks when tipping into an open trench.

This programme is aimed at contractors, owners, and operators of dumper trucks. Employers, managers, supervisors, and others involved with planning, organising or supervising work using dumper trucks, will also find this programme useful.

This new video programme is delivered on DVD, and USB which are provided with a screen menu giving the user access to seven essential but separate sections covering a range of safe working practices to be observed when working with dumper trucks.

The total run-time of the video is approximately 25 minutes.

      Sections include:

      1. Introduction
      2. Pre-operational checks
      3. Working safely with dumpers
      4. Loading the dumper
      5. Unloading the dumper
      6. Parking the dumper
      7. Summary

The guidance given is consistent with the general operator training requirements of the CPCS and NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) in the UK.

“Forward Tipping Dumper Trucks – A Guide to Safety” is the must-have addition to any professional safety training library
