About the Author

Bob Rajan-Rajadurai Sithamparanadarajah OBE JP PhDBob is a futuristic strategist and policy developer.

He was awarded an OBE by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the Department of Works and Pensions. He won many awards, including the BOHS Peter Isaac Award, the BSIF Outstanding Contributions Award, and the RoSPA Distinguished Service Award. Many of his innovative and futuristic strategic approaches won awards and accolades, which include preventing or minimising antifouling paint waste contaminating the river Tamar; Learning Occupational Health by Experiencing Risks (LOcHER); Fit2Fit; controlling skin exposure at work; and the Health Risks at Work! Do You Know Yours?

Bob contributed to the development of the British chemical exposure control regulations and authored or contributed to many publications produced by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), professional organisations, and standard-setting bodies. He published over thirty peer-reviewed papers in international journals, many of which are strategic in nature. Bob also edited and authored numerous articles for professional and technical magazines. He has authored (or contributed to) professional books, including “Achieve Effective and Efficient COSHH-Risk Management, in 2023.
He was a visiting lecturer at universities and an external examiner for PhD submissions and examinations conducted by professional bodies. He is currently the Vice President of the SGUK and a past President of the Royal Chartered BOHS.
